Welcome to Neumann Press and some of the great classics in Catholic Literature at your soon-to-be-favorite Catholic on-line bookstore.

The Neumann Press is named after Saint John Neumann, bishop of Philadelphia (1851 to 1860), the first man from the United States of America canonized by the Church. Our goal and primary purpose is to republish orthodox, traditional and classic Catholic books that have gone out of print. These titles have lost their allure to the national and international publishers because of the orthodoxy of these books and because of the decline of interest in them by a majority of the people in our amusement-laden modern-day culture. The Neumann Press endeavors to appeal to people who have the inclination to take the time to read good books. Our aim is to make certain they are greatly rewarded. Our list of titles includes a limited number of relevant contemporary authors.

An important secondary purpose of The Neumann Press (in addition to a book’s excellent content) is to provide quality books that are beautiful, pleasing to read and that will stand the test of time and usage. Most of our books are gold embossed cloth hardcover books and all have sturdy sewn signatures and are printed on the best quality cream or bright-white paper. We publish a limited number of softcover books and these too are very durable with the same sewn signatures and quality paper. Many of our books have handsome to exquisite illustrations, some with full-color pictures and some are “heirloom” quality books with leather covers and colored ribbon markers.

Neumann Press is a family operated business and most of the employees are family members. We are proud of the craftsmanship that goes into all of our books. Needless to say our books are all “Made in the U.S.A.” In fact they are entirely produced right here in our own editorial offices and printing and bindery shop. A book you order from Neumann Press does not travel more than 100 feet from the “idea” stage through designing-typesetting-scanning-printing-binding until it gets to our mailroom—and into the packing box and sent to you. After we print and fold the pages of our books, the bookbinding is primarily a handcrafted process with very little automatic machine help. The end result is a superb quality book and each book is 100% guaranteed. We are proud to see these great books stacked on our shelves as there is much intense hand labor bound into each copy and we are confident that the people these books are sold to will appreciate them as much as we do.

Catholic School and Homeschool Textbooks, Readers and Workbooks
In addition to our classics and contemporary books, we have had many requests for the textbooks that were used in the Catholic schools during the 1940s-’50s. We were familiar with these books and loved them, and over the course of the past decade we have republished many of them. Along with these we have published ‘new editions’ of favorite out-of-print Catholic readers, history books, novels and story books for ages from preschool through high school. This non-textbook category incudes many lives of the saints for students and adults.

Please check back to this site for updates as we add 25 to 35 new titles during the course of each year. We hope you enjoy browsing the Neumann Press Online Catalogue. If you have any questions you can contact us via phone, fax or email. Please click the “INFO” button on the left side of this page for more information.

Bookstores
Many Catholic bookstores already carry our titles. If your bookstore does not, simply ask them to contact us in order to stock our books. They can contact us via phone, fax or email and we will supply them with all the necessary information regarding credit, discounts, shipping and handling.
